Pennsylvania Regulators Release Penn Casino Revenue Report For 2017/2018 Fiscal Year

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has released slot game and table game revenue for the year, putting the lid on the 2017/2018 fiscal year.

Total Revenue for the year increased to 1.4% – The 1.4% increase marked a turn from the previous year when revenue was -0.78%. During the 2015/2016 fiscal year, Pennsylvania casino revenue grew 3.6%, its largest increase since its second year.

Slots continue to dominate – During the 2017/2018 fiscal year, Pennsylvania casinos generated $2.53 billion dollars in slot revenue versus $895 million in table games revenue. The numbers mean that table games represent only 27.6% of total revenue. Parx reigns supreme – Parx Casino’s performance in slot revenue helps propel it to the top Pennsylvania casino with over $586,667,008 generated during the fiscal year. It should be noted that table game revenue represents a larger share of revenue at Parx than Pennsylvania as a whole — 31.7%.

Sands dominates in table games – While Parx’s continues its sizable lead in slots, Sands Bethleham is the undisputed leader in table game revenue.

Valley Forge sees the largest increase – Thanks to a year of monthly double digit increases, Valley Forge leads the way with a 8.02% increase over the year. Despite the strong year for Valley Forge, they are still the 11th largest casino in Pennsylvania by revenue.

Mohegan Sun Pocono experiences the largest decline – The Wilkes Barre casino was down 3.43% on the year, a decline of just over $8 million from the previous year.
