This weekend is a special one for poker players in Pennsylvania. That’s because that Saturday marks the return of the popular Spring Championship of Online Poker (PASCOOP) in the state. It will be the largest PASCOOP ever in the state with over $2 million in guaranteed prizes.
Running from April 17th through May 2nd, PokerStars PA is holding 120 of the biggest online poker tournaments in PA, including a three separate Main Events.
How to participate
If you are located in Pennsylvania and are at least 21 years of age, you can play in the PASCOOP beginning this Saturday. There will be a total of 40 events for three different buy-in levels – low, medium and high.
The split buy-in levels give a variety of different types of poker players the opportunity to play events that are more in their comfort done. Buy-ins will start from $5 all the way up to high rollers with buy-ins of $1,000 to $2,000.
No Limit Hold’em will be the dominate game, but Omaha and mixed-game events will also be held. Finishing off the schedule on May 2nd will be not one, not two, but three Main Events, split again by buy-in:
The flagship Main Event will be a $300 buy-in $200,000 guaranteed tournament. As an alternative, players can also enter a $75 buy-in $40,000 guaranteed “Medium” tournament as well as a $30 buy-in “Low” tournament.
Qualifying through satellites and freerolls
Although players will have the option for playing tournaments with small buy-ins, there is a way that players can qualify for larger events for less money — satellites and freerolls.
Satellites were running even before the start of the PASCOOP and they will continue to run throughout the festival. Check the PokerStars PA room for huge schedule of satellites.
Freerolls will also be available for players that meet certain criteria. A PokerStars PASCOOP Depositor Freeroll will be held on May 2nd at 2 PM ET. This tournament will give away 50 entries to the $200k guaranteed Main Event. The only requirement to enter is that you must make a deposit between now and May 2nd. Make sure to use bonus code PASCOOP when making your deposit.
In addition, if you play in any PASCOOP event and fail to make the money, you will automatically receive an entry into the next day’s Second Chance Freerolls. These events will award $1,000 in PASCOOP tournament tickets, available for use throughout the festival.
