PlaySugarHouse And FanDuel Dominate PA Online Gambling During August

PA Online Casino and Online Sportsbook Revenue for August

In revenue numbers revealed this week, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has reported revenue figures for online gambling and online casinos during the month of August. The latest report retails that PlaySugarHouse continued its dominance in online casinos while FanDuel online sportsbook in PA has skyrocketed to the top in the PA online sportsbook category after just over a month in operation.

PlaySugarHouse holds lead in online casino revenue

During August there were three online casinos operating in the state — a number which has not yet changed as of early September. The numbers were noteworthy if only for the reason that they were the first full month of reporting from all three of PA’s online casinos.

PlaySugarHouse was again the big winner between the three PA online casinos, generating over $1.6 million in total taxable revenue, ahead of Parx Casino’s $1.1 million figure. PlaySugarHouse was given a significant boost from its internet slots’ revenue, which represented $1,362,585 of the figure.

Parx fared much better in the table games category, thanks in part to PlaySugarHouse currently offering only roulette in their casino, albeit three different versions – American roulette, European roulette and French roulette.

FanDuel is online king in first month

The FanDuel online sportsbook went live in July, behind online sportsbooks from PlaySugarHouse, Parx and BetRivers. The first-to-market status of these PA mobile sportsbook did not stop the brand from leapfrogging to the top of the sports wagering revenue numbers for the month. The report represented the first month where four online sportsbooks had a full month to report, which will provide a clue to which sportsbooks could make a mark during the first month of the NFL season.

The Valley-Forge partnered online sportsbook generated just over $2 million in revenue for the month, significantly beating the combined numbers from PlaySugarHouse, Parx and Rivers Casino. PlaySugarHouse held the lead during the previous month.

While FanDuel ran away with the lead online, the SugarHouse led the way among retail sportsbooks on the month with $816,768 generated, just ahead of Parx Casino ($722,945) and Rivers Casino ($613,$012).
