2020 Philadelphia Eagles bets on DraftKings

The 2019-2020 season was another roller coaster of sorts for the Eagles and their fans. With injuries decimating the secondary and receiving corps, the Eagles stumbled to a 5-7 record before winning their last four down the stretch, capturing the divisional title before ultimately losing a heartbreaking game against Seattle in the Wildcard game.

Though the season fell short of many Eagles fans expectations, as a neutral observer, their results are impressive when considering all the bad injury luck. With the 2020 season nearly underway, the Eagles look poised to pick up where they left off in 2018. Though it may seem like 2020 has some of the same concerns as 2019, Jason Peters is back at left tackle, so all is well.

Right now, on DraftKings, there are a plethora of season props for both the Eagles team and some of the players. Here are some intriguing ones currently listed at DraftKings Sportsbook:

Super Bowl: Eagles +2000 (Tied for 7th best odds)

NFC Title: Eagles +1000 (Tied for 5th best odds)

NFC East Title: Eagles +150

To make playoffs: Eagles -177

Eagles win total: Over 9 wins -134. Under 9 wins +110. Over 10.5 wins +220. Under 10.5 wins -278

Carson Wentz over (or under, same odds) 3900.5 yards passing: -110

Carson Wentz Passing Touchdowns: 27.5 (-110)

NFL MVP: Carson Wentz +2500 (Tied for 8th best odds)

Our top Philadelphia Eagles picks

From this list of props, the ones I like most are for the Eagles to win more than nine games (-134) and Cason Wentz under 3,900 passing yards.

Carson Wentz has had only one season (2019) over 3900 yards and he finished with 4,039. It was just his second full season of 16 games in four NFL seasons. If we are just going off the body of work to this point, there’s a strong chance Wentz doesn’t surpass 3,900 yards. As far as the “over 9 wins” prop, I like the over for a couple reasons.

For one, we know the Cowboys will likely be better this season. The Giants don’t appear to be any better, and the Redskins have improved defensively, though it seems marginal. With the uncertainty of this roster’s health (mainly Wentz) becoming a yearly thing, Jalen Hurts is the kind of talent who can come in immediately and competently run an offense. With this little security blanket in place, I feel safe with the over this season.
